Calgary Home + Design Show

I have a confession to make. I’ve never been to the Calgary Home + Design Show.

But I’m going this year. We’re developing the basement of our new house and I’d like to get a few ideas of some unique things we can do to really personalise the space.

The Calgary Home + Design Show presented by Scotiabank is the ultimate authority on all things design, entertaining and home
improvement. With big names like W Network’s Jonathan and Drew Scott,  stars of Property Brothers, Jillian Harris & Todd Talbot, hosts of Love It or List It Vancouver, and Calgary’s very own Alykhan Velji on the Trail Appliances Main Stage presented by HGTV, plus more than 350 exhibitors and a host of new and exciting features, there’s expert insight, innovation and inspiration for living well at every turn.

Presented by the Calgary Herald, you can also check out the IKEA White Room Design Challenge.Pristine white gets a shot of colour and creativity in this unique new feature. Four teams, each composed of three of Calgary’s most promising students and an assisting professor from Bow Valley College, will turn a white room (complete with five key furnishings from IKEA) into a work of art, using only their skills, a license to hack and a $1,000 budget to spend on IKEA home decor and accessories. Cast your vote and enter to win one of the four final designs, or a white room of your very own courtesy of IKEA. Let the hacking – and designing – begin!

The show is held September 19 – 22, 2013 at the BMO Centre at Stampede Park in Calgary, Alberta. I’ve got two tickets to give away, and a $100 gift card to IKEA! Simply comment below letting me know what you’d change in your home and why, and you’ll be entered into the draw. Contest open to Alberta residents only, closes Tuesday, September 17 at 5pm MST.
